DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - Luther College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Development Officer. The Development Officer serves as an ambassador of the College with responsibility to build and develop long-term, donor-centric relationships built on a firm understanding of the donor’s interest, passions, and values. The primary objective of the officer is to advance the mission of the College by planning and implementing a program to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors with major and planned gift potential in support of Luther’s fundraising initiatives and institutional priorities. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years in development work, major gifts, or related area is required. Degree from a liberal arts college and experience in an academic setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and leaderships skills are essential. This position requires traveling on a regular basis as well as frequent evening and weekend hours. MAINTENANCE MECHANIC/PLUMBER - Luther College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic/Plumber. This person will perform all types of building maintenance and repair that is generated from the Facilities Services work order system. Most work will be related to plumbing, heating, and air condition systems. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Interpret drawings, schematics, and blue prints; prepare lists of materials needed, perform plumbing, heating, and air conditioning service, provide service on steam distribution system, assist boiler operators, and assist with snow removal. High school diploma and computer skills for accessing the college’s web-based work order system and email are required. Four years formal work experience in installation and repair in plumbing, heating, steam and air conditioning. Stanley Engineered Fastening is hiring (Decorah, IA) MACHINE OPERATORS (2nd and 3rd Shifts) $13.84/hour, then eligible for increase after 3 months to $15.79/hour. Further details provided during the interview. Shift Premiums for these positions are: $1.15/hour for 2nd shift (3pm – 11pm) $1.70/hour for 3rd  shift (11pm – 7am) 
Machine operator positions involve operating fastener manufacturing equipment under supervision. The operator will be responsible for learning the skills necessary to maintain production requirements and quality standards of various fasteners.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Mechanical aptitude. Ability to use all gages and gaging techniques required. Ability to operate equipment and perform machine setups. Ability to consistently meet production and quality standard. Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of all required operator documentation. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems. Apply basic math skills for blue print reading, gaging and SPC. Ability to gain the understanding of the manufacturing process and machine  requirements to perform work assignments. Must be available to work overtime as needed. Must comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and practices.
