Decorah junior Class 2A No. 8-ranked Philip Ihde (120 pounds) is into the Class 2A quarterfinals at the state wrestling tournament.
Ihde defeated Kyler Dunn of Spirit Lake 9-7 in the first round of action Thursday. He will face No. 1 Bryce West of Solon (50-1) in the quarterfinals today, Friday, Feb. 17, after 2:30 p.m.
In other action, Decorah's Isaiah Mitchell (160 pounds, 26-11) ended his season at state, falling in both matches Thursday.
South Winn's Class 1A No. 9 Manning Kuboushek (195 pounds) is still alive in the consolation bracket. He'll wrestle later this morning. If he wins, he is guaranteed a medal. If he falls, he is out of the tournament.
