The first Pfister Family Reunion was held in Decorah Saturday, July 12, 2014. Family came from six states, from Idaho to Arkansas. The oldest family member was Aunt Lou (Luella Young), who turned 104 July 17; the youngest was Ean Adam Pfister, age 15 months. As part of the family gathering they traveled to Locust to visit St. John’s Lutheran Church which their great-great-grandfather Philippe Pfister helped to found. They also were able to visit Locust School, which Philippe Pfister helped to establish. All of the Pfister parents attended Locust, as well as some children; some family taught there. In fact before it closed in 1960 after 106 years, four generations of Pfisters attended Locust School: Philippe’s son George Adam, grandson Alwin Philip, great-grandson George Alwin and great-great-grandson Philip George. They were able to join with others in celebrating the 104th birthday of Aunt Lou Sunday, July 13. They had a wonderful time reconnecting with long-separated cousins. (Submitted photo)
