The SCI CAN Foundation and EXO fraternity are sponsoring a fundraiser at Pizza Ranch in Decorah Wednesday, April 3.
Founded by Decorah's Chris Norton, who was severely injured Oct.16, 2010 while playing football for Luther College, fracturing his C3-C4 vertebrae, the SCI CAN Foundation seeks to improve the quality of therapy for individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and other neuromuscular deficiencies.
All day April 3, 10 percent of Pizza Ranch's proceeds will be donated to a scholarship fund for Decorah High School graduate Abby Theisen, who was injured in an automobile accident in 2010, that left her paralyzed. The money raised toward this scholarship will be used to provide Theisen with additional physical and occupational therapy that her insurance will not cover.
Norton will be at Pizza Ranch Wednesday night, April 3, selling bracelets, with proceeds being donated directly to the scholarship.
