Area communities celebrating Fourth of July

The Decorah Rotary Club is sponsoring an old fashioned Fourth of July Thursday at Phelps Park.
Rotary members will serve lemonade and ice cream for a free will donation. The Lions Club will provide popcorn. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with live music by the Bread and Butter String Band.
Micheal Foster, who will be a junior at Decorah High School this fall, will be the speaker.
Festina will have a Fourth of July parade Thursday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a community potluck. All are welcome.
Spillville will celebrate the Fourth of July this weekend.
The Miles Adams Band performs from 8 p.m. to midnight at The Inwood Friday, July 5.
The community celebrates Independence Day at Riverside Park/The Inwood, Saturday, July 6. Admission to the park is $3 per person and $5 per car.
A youth traveling league baseball tournament begins at 8 a.m. with teams from Lansing, South Winneshiek, Charles City and Waukon. There will be activities for children throughout the day. A beanbag tournament starts at 3 p.m., the community band performs at 4 p.m. (free 1919 root beer) will be served and bingo starts at 4 p.m. Bar Flyz will perform live music on the ball diamond at 6 p.m.
The largest fireworks display in Northeast Iowa begins at 9:30 p.m. The deejay Black Out performs afterword inside the Inwood. Admission is $3.
