Nicholas Rowley has been named Trial Lawyer of the Year by Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (CASD).

He is a partner in the Los Angeles firm of Carpenter, Zuckerman and Rowley. He also maintains law offices in Decorah and St Paul.

He and his wife, Elida, have a home in Decorah, and their five children attend Decorah schools. Rowley also has homes in Topanga, Calif. and Costa Rica.

Rowley is receiving the Trial Lawyer of the Year honor for various accomplishments and major trial success during 2012, including a $74,525,000 verdict for a young girl who suffered brain damage during birth due to the negligent actions of her doctor.

CASD is an organization comprised of trial lawyers in San Diego County, with a goal of protecting the legal rights of consumers. Among the organization's goals, the CASD is focused on supporting trial lawyers throughout the area, upholding the highest standards in the legal realm, safeguarding the community and consumers, and seeking justice for all.

The 2013 annual awards and installation dinner is Thursday, Feb. 7, at the U.S. Grant Hotel in San Diego.
