Decorah High School will host its 12th annual Veterans Day breakfast and program for veterans and their families Monday, Nov. 12

(This is a change from the original date of Friday, Nov. 9 to accomodate those who will be attending the football playoffs Thursday.)

Featured speaker is Vice Admiral Adam Robinson, Surgeon General of the US Navy, Retired. Special guests will be Captain Paul Jacobs, Commander of the USS Kirk, Retired; Jan Herman, Historian, Naval Bureau of Medicine & Surgery, Retired.

Breakfast will be served to veterans and their family members starting at 8:30 a.m.

The Veterans Day program will take place in the high school auditorium and is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m. Parking will be available in the parking lot located on the west side of the high school. Veterans and their family members can enter through either the auditorium doors or the doors located off the west parking lot.



Blue jean drive

The high school is also collecting slightly used blue jeans for the blue jean drive for homeless veterans - both male and female. Jeans can be dropped off at the high school office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 16. Blue jeans can also be dropped off the day of the Veterans Day breakfast and program.
