Luther College is seeking additional candidates for consideration for a new Luther president.
According to a statement released by Presidential Search Committee Co-Chairs Sandy Lee and Paul Torgerson, "The College's Board of Regents is taking a two-pronged approach."
While continuing to look for a permanent replacement for Luther President Richard Torgerson, a sub-committee of the search committee will also work to define the roles and responsibilities that an interim president might have and will seek candidates who could serve in that capacity.
Both committees will report to the Board of Regents, which has responsibility for decisions regarding a permanent or interim appointment.
Torgerson's term of service to Luther College concludes June 30.
"We feel confident in taking this additional time because Luther is a strong and well-positioned college, due to the efforts and dedication of each member of the Luther community," said Lee and Torgerson.
