Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) has been recognized as one of the best schools in the U.S. for online learning in 2016-17 by Affordable Colleges Online.
Affordable Colleges Online (ACO) is an organization that is dedicated to providing information about colleges, degree programs and scholarships that assist students in developing their academic plans.
In developing their ranking system, ACO used a variety of scoring metrics, including in-state tuition and fees, student-to-faculty ratio and the availability of academic/career counseling services. Out of thousands of U.S. colleges with online degree programs, the college ranked 42.
“We are always striving to improve student learning,” said Kyle Collins, director of online and blended learning at NICC.
“It is a testament to all of the hard work everyone puts in at the college on a daily basis. We will continue to work hard, since that is why we are here – for our students and their continued learning and success,” said Collins.
Online and blended learning through NICC offers individuals the opportunity to schedule classes while maintaining the commitments of work and family without the need to travel to a campus location. This flexibility can allow students to attain their educational and professional goals. The courses are offered as online, Iowa Communications Network (ICN) and hybrid course formats.
