North Winn looking long term

During its meeting Monday night, the North Winneshiek School Board discussed the joint meeting it will have 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, with the Decorah School Board.
The meeting will be held in the Decorah Middle School cafeteria.
"The North Winn Board is taking the time to thoroughly look at future possibilities which may exist with the Decorah School District," Superintendent Tim Dugger said after Monday night's meeting.
"Our Board needs to begin long-rang planning beyond 2017 and the first step is a joint meeting with the Decorah School Board. I have prepared some talking points for the meeting next Monday night."
In other business Monday night, the Board approved the resignation and early retirement application for teacher Nancy Welper. Her resignation is effective at the end of the school year. The Board thanked Welper for her years of dedication to the District.
The Board also agreed to submit a bill to the Mable -Canton School District for costs associated with the shuttle bus from North Winn to Mabel-Canton High School and back again. The shuttle transports 9-12 grade students who are a part of the sharing agreement with Mabel-Canton.
