The Ossian Crown Club hopes the Winneshiek Medical Board will listen to its constituents.
At Wednesday's meeting of the WMC Board of Trustees, representatives from the Ossian Crown Club presented the Board with 850 signatures - that's five more people than live within the town of Ossian.
The action came following the closure off the Gundersen Lutheran Clinic in Ossian, following the retirement of longtime physician Dr. Ignatius Greene.
Former WMC Board Member Karl Schroeder, who lives in Ossian, said, "The southern part of the county needs to be taken care of. This institution is the one to do it. It's a tax-payer funded organization and these are taxpayers."
WMC Board Member Clark Goltz of Ossian said the number of signatures "shows a huge commitment."
