A luncheon to benefit four South Winneshiek FFA students traveling to Scotland for international dairy judging competition is noon Friday, Feb. 1, at the NICC Dairy Center in Calmar.

The luncheon features Phil Plourd, president of Blimling and Associates Inc., a consulting, research and risk management firm based in Madison, Wis. Plourd, a popular speaker across the country and an avid student of the food industry and macroeconomic trends, will speak on "More Miracles in Store: U.S. Agriculture and the World" at 1 p.m.

South Winn's Cassidy Buddenberg, Mariah Schmitt, Karla Hageman and Ben Hanson recently placed third in the national FFA Dairy Judging Contest, earning them a trip to the Royal Highland Show in Scotland this summer. Money raised from the luncheon will help with their travel expenses.
