Decorah High School: 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer'
The classic Mark Twain story comes to life on the Decorah High School stage in this Tony award-winning musical adaptation of America's favorite book.
"The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" is the irresistible story of a 14 year-old boy growing up in the heartland of America. Set in 1840 Missouri, the tale centers around young Tom Sawyer and the mischief of which he so often finds himself a part -- whether it's tricking his friends into white-washing a fence for him or narrowly escaping the clutches of a murderous villain.
Performances of the show are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14, 15 and 16, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m. in the Decorah High School Auditorium.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for K-12 students. Tickets can be purchased from the DHS Box Office Nov. 11, 12 and 13, from 4-7 p.m. Tickets also may be reserved by calling 563-387-3900.
South Winneshiek High School: 'Back to the '80s'
"Everybody cut, everybody cut, everybody cut Footloose" is one of many hit songs from the 1980s nobody will want to miss at this year's South Winneshiek High School fall musical, "Back to the '80s."
"Back to the '80s" will be performed Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14, 15 and 16, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the South Winneshiek High School auditorium.
The musical incorporates many pop culture references from the '80s that will strike memories for many -- from the Rubik cube, to "Back to the Future," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Star Wars" and more.
Corey Palmer (senior) played by Alex Upton, narrates the musical, which is a trip down memory lane -- where he relives his high school years at William Ocean High School.
