The Decorah Planning and Zoning Commission tabled a decision on a site plan for O' Reilly Auto Parts during its meeting Monday night.
O' Reilly has proposed a 6,600-square-foot building on one of the two remaining undeveloped lots south of the Decorah Walmart, closest to Old Stage Road. Plans include about 30 parking spaces.
According to City Manager Chad Bird, the Commission needs to receive storm water calculations from the company's engineer and needs to review a building elevation for the structure before making a decision. That information wasn't available at Monday's meeting.
In addition, City Engineer Lindsay Erdman has requested changes to O' Reilly's driveway and parking lot layout. Bird said he would be in contact with project managers and the plan could be on the agenda at the Commission's next meeting, Monday, Aug. 12.
Bird commented the Commission's response to the O' Reilly request was positive.
"They're excited to have another business in town ... they just want to make sure they get things right," he said.
Erdman also reminded the Commission O' Reilly also will have to abide by covenants Walmart, which owns the lots, has in place.
