DOLLY KIRCHNER, 77, of Decorah, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Barthell Eastern Star Home, in Decorah, after a long battle with esophageal cancer. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main St., Decorah, with Rev. Phil Gibbs presiding. Burial is in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday, March 25, and also Tuesday morning from 9-10 a.m., at the Schluter - Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah. A rosary is at 4 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be given in memory of Dolly to the Barthell Eastern Star Home Activity Bus, 911 Ridgewood Drive, Decorah, IA 52101 and Winneshiek Memorial Hospice, 907 Montgomery Street, Decorah, IA 52101. Dolly is survived by her five children: Glenda (Paul) Moen, Hudson, Wis.; Steven (Tessa) Kirchner, Vail, Colo.; David (Laura) Kirchner, Decorah; Michael (Wendy) Kirchner, Rochester, Minn.; and Kaleen (Bruce) Hanson, Waukon; 14 grandchildren: Aaron (Vanessa) Moen, Mackenzie (fiancé, Dave Von Ahnen) Moen and Madeline Moen; Canon, Berit and Bode Kirchner, Paige and Ashton Kirchner, Patrick, Annika and Sean Kirchner, Kylie and Brixen and Kayler Hanson; one brother-in-law, Darvin (Norma) Hacker, Decorah; one niece and three nephews: Mike Hacker, Karen (Doug) Kinnett, Larry Eckhardt and Marty (Jodi) Eckhardt. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents: John and Margaret (Sennett) Doocy; her husband, Glenn Kirchner, July 30, 2001; father- and mother-in-law: Charles Kirchner, Klaas and Maude (Kirchner) Pruisman; three brothers: Larry Joe Doocy, Armond Doocy and Con Doocy; three sisters-in-law: Elizabeth "Betty" Hacker, LaDonna Ron "Red" Eckhardt and Rhonda Kirchner.
