Paul Luzum, 83, of Calmar, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Festina, with Rev. Daniel Knipper officiating. Organist was Lorraine Meyer. Kelly Luzum was vocalist ("Be Not Afraid," "How Great Thou Art," "On Eagle's Wings," "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "I Can Only Imagine"). Lectors were Jim Luzum and Carissa Luzum. Servers were Michelle Meyer, Mitchell Meyer and Ethan Luzum. Offertory giftbearers were Kapria Luzum, Tayler Luzumand and Eryn Luzum. Eucharistic ministers were Elaine Heying and Kenny Schissel. Casketbearers were Dale Luzum, Bob Luzum, Randy Luzum, Mark Halstead, Kyle Meyer, Josh Bond and Blake Buddenberg. Honorary casketbearers were all of Paul's grandchildren. Military rites at graveside were by Halverson - Giesen American Legion Post No. 266, Calmar. Interment was at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery in Festina. Arrangements were handled by Schluter - Balik Funeral Home in Calmar.
