Peter J. Kriener, 39, of Fort Atkinson, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, as a result of injuries from an automobile accident near Festina. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be given to Peter's son, Karter Kriener's College Fund. Mass Of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, May 7), at St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Lucas, with Rev. Nick March officiating. Mass servers are McKenna and Kelby Reicks. Organist is Kathy Meyer. Soloist is Abby Kriener ( "Go Rest High on that Mountain"). St. Luke's Choir sings "Here I am, Lord," "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," "On Eagle's Wings" and "How Great Thou Art." Lector is Glen Schmitt. Offertory giftbearers are Marcus and Brad Kriener and Kyle and Kalvin Langreck. Eucharistic ministers are Evie Milbrandt, Trudy Smith, Jim Kriener and Elaine Heying. Honorary casketbearers are Peter's nephews: Kyle and Kalvin Langreck, Bradley, Marcus, Jordan and Mitchell Kriener and Caleb Kriener. Casketbearers are Kurt Kriener, Arnie Kriener, Ron Gerleman, Tory Jarchow, Marty Timp, Ray Schissel, Dale Rausch and Brandon Ives. Interment is at St. Luke's Catholic Cemetery, St. Lucas. Peter is survived by his wife, Kaiya Kriener, Fort Atkinson; his son, Karter Kriener, 2, at home; his parents, Peter and Diane Kriener, Fort Atkinson; five siblings: Deb (Kerri) Langreck, St. Lucas; Arlen (Annette) Kriener, Fort Atkinson; Jeremy (Samantha) Kriener, Fort Atkinson; Denise (friend, Kurt Zirtzman) Kriener, Ryan; and Sara Kriener, Cedar Falls; seven nephews: Kyle and Kalvin Langreck; Bradley, Marcus, Jordan and Mitchell Kriener; and Caleb Kriener; his father-in-law, Neil Hageman, Fort Atkinson; step father-in-law, Daryl Schmitt, Ft. Atkinson; sister-in-law, Kara (friend, Kerry Kleve) Hageman, Calmar; grandparents, James Soukup, Decorah and Christine Kolaas, Calmar; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Peter was preceded in death by his sister, Annette Kriener, in infancy in 1981; grandparents, Mary Soukup, Peter and Mary Kriener; his mother-in-law, Robyn Hageman Schmitt, in 2008.
