Decorah's Porter House Museum is holding its third annual Garden Party fundraiser Saturday, June 11, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The event will be held on the historic grounds of the museum at 401 W Broadway, and will include live music, refreshments, wine, silent auction and a raffle.
Proceeds from the event will benefit general operations at the museum, as well as ongoing preservation and restoration efforts.
All silent auction items have been donated specifically for this fundraiser. The garden party will feature live music by Wild Ginger, a sunny acoustic duo.
Refreshments and wine will be provided, and throughout the event, attendees will be welcome to explore the historic grounds and gardens. The gardens are looking especially beautiful this year due to extensive volunteer efforts coordinated by Kris Erickson. Their work was featured recently in the Home and Garden edition of Decorah Newspapers.
This year's garden party event will also include a raffle for a piece of original pottery by Dean and Gunnar Schwartz of South Bear School. The pot was recently featured in a 2014 exhibit at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art.
Raffle tickets will be available for sale at $5 each leading up to the event, with the winner announced at the conclusion of the party. Participants in the raffle may buy as many raffle tickets as desired, and need not be present to win.
The auction is Saturday, June 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. Admission will cost $10 per person—or $15 total for two people, if someone attends with a spouse or friend.
