Four Decorah High School graduates were presented letters at the Luther College annual awards banquet held Saturday, May 3.
This list included seniors Brock Arend and Dane Huinker, junior Martin Stalberger and sophomore Blaise Schaeffer.
Schaeffer was presented his first letter as the back-up keeper, Stalberger his second as a defender, Huinker his third as a midfield and Arend his fourth as a forward.
Stalberger was also presented the Breakout Player of the Year Award. Stalberger started all 22 matches for the Norse. He tallied three goals, including the game-winner in the 109th minute in the final game of the regular season that clinched a tie for the Iowa Conference championship.
Arend and Huinker completed their careers making 78 and 61 appearances, respectively. Arend tallied 22 career goals and nine assists for 53 points. Huinker was credited with two goals and three assists for seven points.
During the 2014 campaign, the Norse advanced to the second round of the NCAA III National Tournament before being eliminated 0-0 2OT, 5-3 penalty kicks, by Loras College. Luther finished with an overall record of 15-6-1.
