Luther college baseball players Alec Knop and Andy Briggs were named first team all-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorees while Czenzic Rojer was named honorable mention.
Knop, a junior starting pitcher from Apple Valley, Minn., was 6-1 with a 2.33 ERA on the mound. He threw 58 innings, with opponents hitting .247 against him. This is Knop’s first all-conference honor. He is the son of John and Jennifer Knop of Apple Valley, Minn.
Andy Briggs, a senior outfielder from Waverly. He was named second team in 2013. He led the team with a .376 batting average. He scored 42 runs, most on the team, with 12 doubles and 18 RBIs. He is the son of Mike Briggs and Leah Winterberg of Waverly.
Czenzic Rojer, a junior outfielder from Curacao, was named honorable mention, his first conference recognition. During the season he hit .312 with 23 runs scored, four home runs and 40 RBIs, the most on the team.
Jon Ringblom of Buenva Vista was named the pitcher of the year while D.J. Utley of Wartburg was named the position player of the year. Steve Eddie of Buena Vista was recognized as the coach of the year. He is the son of Susana Rojer of Curacao.
