Amanda (Smith) Webb, a 2002 graduate of Luther College, was inducted into the Luther College Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding basketball career.
The induction ceremony took place Saturday, Oct. 6 ,during homecoming weekend.
Webb was a four-year letter winner for the Norse. Three-times she was named first team all-Iowa Conference and team MVP. As a senior she helped lead Luther to its fifth Iowa Conference title and first in seven years. She will be forever known for her last season shot that defeated Simpson College in front of the home crowd that gave Head Coach Jane Hildebrand her 300th career victory.
Postseason awards her senior year included D3hoops.com All-West Region, WBCA honorable mention All-American, CoSida Academic All-District and academic all-conference for a second time. Webb was also named a Lutheran Brotherhood Lutheran College All-American in 2001.
Webb finished her prestigious Norse career ranked fourth in points scored (1,328), as the all-time leader in assists (350), three-point field goals made (191) and three-point field goal percentage (37.7%). She also ranks second in field-goal percentage (57.8%), steals (209) and games played (104).
Webb currently works as a certified public accountant at Hacker, Nelson and Co., P.C. in Decorah. She is married to Bryan Webb, and the couple has two children, Peyton and Payge. She is the daughter of Rick and Carol Smith of Decorah.
