After falling behind early, the Decorah boys basketball team (8-5, 4-4 NEIC) made a spirited comeback Tuesday night that came up short as Waukon (6-7, 2-6 NEIC) got the win 53-47.

"We didn't deserve to win as Waukon outplayed us for three quarters. Anytime you don't play for a full 32 minutes and are not fully engaged mentally, you run the risk of getting beat, which occurred," said Coach Jonathan Carlson.

The Indians challenged the Vikes from the beginning as Decorah managed just nine points in the first eight minutes of play. After one quarter the Vikes trailed by 10. In the second, the Indians continued to baffle the Viking offense. At the half it was 34-21.
