Decorah's big three named all-NEIC

Three members of the Decorah boys basketball team were honored by the conference by being named to the Northeast Iowa all-conference list this week.
Senior Jacob Drost earned second team honors while junior Holt Johansen and senior Josh Miller were both named honorable mention. It is Drost's second straight second team honor while Johansen and Miller are first time honorees.
Second time honor
Drost led the team in scoring with 10.9 points per game. He connected on 49.7 percent of his field goals. He also led the team in rebounding average with 4.6 a night. He collected 97 total, second best on the team. In addition he had 44 assists, 40 steals and 17 blocks. He assists and steals were second best for the Vikes while the blocks led the team.
Johansen was tied for second best on the team in points a night with 7.3. He hit 45.3 percent of his shots. In addition he had 3.8 rebounds a night, with 33 offensive and 55 defensive for 88 total. He also contributed 13 assists, 16 steals and six blocks.
Miller was on fire from three-point land. He connected on 42.2 percent of his shots (43-for-102). In addition he shot 45.6 percent from the field. He also contributed 14 assists, 14 steals and four blocks, along with 22 total rebounds.
The Vikings finished the year 14-9 overall. They defeated Waukon in the first round of the Class 3A postseason before falling to Crestwood in the district finals 49-44.
In addition to the conference honor, Drost was named academic all-state.
