It came down to the eighth tiebreaker Thursday for a winner to be determined in the South Winn against Turkey Valley dual wrestling meet.
In the end, South Winn won 34-33. The eighth tiebreaker is which team scores the most first points of in each match.
South Winn picked up six wins. Starting at 106 pounds, Cody Fisher threw John Gossling in 1:07. Luke Massman picked up a forfeit at 120, as did Jacob Ling at 126. The Warriors grabbed three victories in a row, with Class 1A No. 7 Ryan Hageman (170 pounds) throwing Charles Hadacek in 5:17, Class 1A No. 8 Landers Kuboushek (182) winning 6-0 over Levi Klimesh and Class 1A No. 4 Chris Brincks (195) pinning Scott Kime in 16 seconds.
For Turkey Valley, Tom Reicks (120) received a forfeit. At 145 pounds, Nick Meirick needed seven seconds to pin Lane Schnuelle. Eric Buckendahl (152) got back on the mat by defeating Ben Meyer 5-3. Riley Meirick received a forfeit at 160. At 220 pounds, Kyle Reicks pinned Ethan Kipp in 2:51, and Class 1A No. 4 heavyweight Luke Kuennen received a forfeit.
