The Turkey Valley girls basketball team (10-6, 9-4 UIC) split two games to start the week.

Eight in a row

A fourth-quarter turnaround gave the Trojans their eighth win in a row Monday as they knocked off Edgewood-Colesburg (6-5, 6-1 UIC) 60-54 on the road.

The Trojans fell behind 15-18 after the first quarter and went into the locker room down 29-34. They shaved two points off the lead in the third, making it 43-46. It was the fourth quarter where the Trojans pulled away, outscoring the Vikings 17-8.

"Great win by the girls. They played really well," said Co-Coaches Dan Stepan and Carla Nymeyer. "They played very composed and beat a really good Ed-Co team."
