The Turkey Valley boys and girls cross country teams traveled south to North-Linn Saturday to compete against ranked teams from all classes.
In total, the girls went up against seven ranked squads while the boys raced against six ranked teams.
Overall, the teams did well against the stiff competition and the cold.

The varsity girls finished 12th overall with 297 points. First went to Class 3A No. 4 Solon, which finished with 56 points.
"This proved to be a difficult meet for us for two reasons. First, the competition was unusually good. Second, we might have let the cold affect our attitudes a little," said Coach Timothy Kruckman. "There were 12 individually ranked girls in the varsity race and seven ranked teams from three classifications.
"We like to get up early and travel south for this meet to look at teams we will not see until the state qualifying meet. Starmont, Valley CEW, North-Linn and Marquette will all be formidable opponents."
