With the regular season starting to wind down, the Turkey Valley girls basketball team (4-13, 3-11 UIC) played two games in two nights last weekend.
Getting the opportunity to face its first round playoff opponent, the Trojans fell to Kee High (8-9, 6-8 UIC) 36-40 Thursday night.
The game was tied after the first quarter at 6-6. In the second, the Kee Hawks posted 16 points to Turkey Valley's 12 to make it 22-18 Kee at the half. Kee out-scored Turkey Valley by one in the third quarter to increase the lead to five at 33-28. In the fourth, the two teams scored a combined 15 points. However, the Trojans could only post eight to Kee's seven.
"We let the game get away from us the last three minutes of the second quarter and the first three minutes of the third, but we gave ourselves a chance to win in the end," said Co-Coaches Dan Stepan and Mike Kuennen.
