South Winn's Colton Hageman (170) and Chris Brincks (195) both lost their quarterfinal match and will wrestle later this morning in the consolation bracket.
TV's Luke Kuennen also wrestles this morning in the consolation bracket.
A win means the wrestlers will medal and can finish as high as third.
In Hageman's quarterfinal match with Koy Snider (39-5) of Wilton, Hageman (28-6) fell behind 0-2 late in the first but escaped to make it 1-2. He got an escape to start the second to tie the match, but Snider scored a takedown to go back ahead. After a Hageman escape, Snider scored another take down. No points were scored in the final for Snider to win 6-3. Hageman will face Zach Hoyle (34-9) of Alburnett in the consolation bracket.
Brincks (25-1) battled Cade Jones (42-1) of West Branch in the quarterfinals. With the score tied at 0s after the first, Jones escaped in the second to go ahead 1-0. Brincks returned the favor in the third to tie it. However, Jones got a take down late in the third to win 3-2. Brincks faces Luke Kramer (39-10) of Maquoketa Valley in the consolation bracket.
Kuennen will wrestle Vinnie Harvey (41-1) of St. Edmond in the consolation bracket.
