South Winn's Colton Hageman has been invited to represent South Winn in the 2013 Shrine Bowl.
The 41st annual game is being moved to the UNI-Dome this year in Cedar Falls. It will be held Saturday, July 27. It previously had been held in Ames.
Hageman was named a first team linebacker by the Des Moines Register and was named first team all-district in 2011 and '12 and second team in '10. He was also named the offensive MVP by the district and third team by the Iowa Newspaper Association.
He led the team with 1,491 yards on 205 carries, a 7.3 yards average, with 23 touchdowns. On defense he was second with 90 tackles, to go with 13 tackles for a loss. Hageman set the school record for rushing yards for a career with 3,426 yards.
"This is a tremendous honor for Colton to be invited to take part in this annual event. His achievements the last four years of high school are deserving of the opportunity," said South Winn football coach Jason Ohrt. "This is a great way for Colton to end an outstanding career at South Winneshiek."
