Finally playing in the sun and warmth, the Decorah boys tennis team faced a squad full of experience, falling to Onalaska (Wis.) 7-2 Monday night on the Luther courts.
Onaslaska had more experience from the start, with four of the six singles players being seniors. In addition, Decorah was short handed, with Joe Holland injured and Zach Heine still on break.
Despite that, Decorah picked up two wins. At No. 3 singles, Aidan Hunter defeated Sid Shapiro 6-4, 2-6, TB (12-10). In doubles action, Ross Gentry combined with Hunter to win at No. 1 6-3, 6-1, over Ethan Houskamp and Brandon Schmitt.
