Jaeger named head coach at Ottumwa

Former Decorah and Luther athlete John Jaeger has been named the head baseball coach at Ottumwa High School in southeast Iowa.
Jaeger was the head coach of the Ottumwa sophomore team last year and is a special education teacher at the high school.
A 2001 graduate of Decorah High School, Jaeger excelled in multiple sports for the Vikes. He went on to play baseball and football for the Norse. He finished his career with the top batting average (.384) in the program's history. He also is second in hits (200), in home runs (26) and runs scored (137) and third in runs batted in (127) and doubles (40).
Jaeger went on to serve as an assistant coach at Luther and Central College in Pella. He has also coached freshman baseball in Wisconsin and two years as an assistant JV coach at Middleton High School.
