The South Winn and Turkey Valley wrestling teams kicked off 2013 with a bang, battling each other in a dual meet Thursday night.

When the smoke cleared, it was Turkey Valley that came out on top, defeating the Warriors 43-29.

The Trojans won eight of the 13 weight classes that competed (it was a double forfeit at 132 pounds).

Starting the night at 113 points, Trojan Austin Vrzak threw Alec Quandahl in 1:11. The streak continued by Tom Reicks throwing SW's Hunter Leibold. Luis Uribe (126) got the Warriors going with a pin over Travis Reicks in 2:25. At 138 pounds, John Hageman threw Ben Unzieitig in 1:34. Riley Meirick, Eric Buchendahl and Nick Meirick made it two, three and four in a row for the Trojans.
