It will be a whole new look for the Turkey Valley boys basketball team - from the players all the way to their jerseys - this season when the Trojans take to the court.
The Trojans return just one returning letter winner and 1.9 points per game from last year.
However, with a talented bench and lots of enthusiasm, second-year Head Coach Chris Sullivan is excited to get the season started. Assisting him is Timothy Kruckman.
The Trojans of 2011-12 put together yet another solid season. They finished 13-3 in the conference, good for second overall. They received a bye in the first round of tournament play, then faced Edgewood-Colesburg, winning 60-45. In the semifinals they defeated Starmont 53-35. Battling North-Linn in the finals, the Trojans had a chance to move on; however in the end, it was the Lynx that won, 47-38. With the loss, the Trojans ended the year 17-7.
For the season, the Trojans shot 38.8 percent from the field and averaged 51.6 points per game. The defense allowed 1,046 points for 43.6 points a game. Turkey Valley pulled down 31.6 rebounds a game. In addition, they had 340 assists, 327 steals and 65 blocks.
