The South Winn baseball team is ready for the postseason.
The Class 2A No. 8 Warriors (31-1) defeated Janesville (18-4) 12-5 Thursday night in the final regular season contest.
The Warriors scored in every inning but the seventh. They put up two in the first, three in the second, one in the third, four in the fourth and one in each of the fifth and sixth.
There were just five hits in the game. Trevor Schweinefus was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, and a solo home run. Jordan Rommes had a double and scored two runs. Ryan Hageman drove in three, stole two bases and scored a run. Andre Walz had the other hit. Treyton Jacobsen scored two runs while Tyler Numedahl drove in two.
Wyatt Opperman picked up the win. He went five innings, giving up four hits and one unearned run. Tanner Kuennen finished things.
