Turkey Valley boys basketball Coach Chris Sullivan knew Tuesday night would be a tough test, facing 2012 state basketball participant Class 2A No. 10 MFL (8-1, 7-0 UIC) on the road.
In the end, the talented Bulldogs overpowered the young Trojan squad (1-8, 1-7 UIC), winning 76-32.
The Trojans fell behind in the first quarter 23-9. At the half they trailed 54-18.
"Tonight we ran into a very talented and deep team. They controlled the game from the start," said Sullivan. "Our game plan was to slow down the game and keep the score in the 40s, but we failed to do that, and MFL was out and running from the get-go. MFL got into the lane throughout the game and were hot from three all night. We thought the kids played hard tonight for four quarters even though the score was 76-32. We told the kids we need to stay focused and continue to get better down the stretch."
