In the second, the Vikings extended the lead, thanks to quality shooting and strong defense. The Vikes scored 15 points in the frame to go ahead 28-15 with 16 minutes remaining.

The third quarter saw Charles City put some offensive highlights together, cutting into the Viking lead some. However, Decorah continued to fight back, keeping the lead in double figures at 40-29. It was all Decorah in the fourth as the Vikes scored 18 points.
