Playing the team just ahead of them in the Upper Iowa Conference standings, the South Winn boys basketball team (7-7, 6-5 UIC) fell at Clayton Ridge (14-3, 11-2 UIC) 75-61 Friday night.
The Warriors took a lead after the first quarter, 15-10. However, the Eagles came roaring back in the second, outscoring the visiting team by seven to lead 31-29 at the halftime break.
In the third frame, the Eagles again outscored the Warriors, this time by three to take a 50-45 lead with eight minutes to go. The final frame went to Clayton Ridge 25-16.
Trevor Schweinefus had another big night. He posted 18 points, along with three assists. Andre Walz had 14 points and four boards while Jordan Rommes had 12 points and four steals. Adam Lensing pulled down eight rebounds while Eric Albertson had five assists.
The Warriors are at North Fayette today, Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 7:30 p.m.
