A slow second half offensively sent the Turkey Valley boys basketball team home for the final time of the season as the Trojans lost to Postville 53-28 Thursday night in the second round of the Class 1A state basketball postseason.

The Pirates improve to 11-11 and face West Central tonight. Turkey Valley ends the year 3-18.

Looking just at the results from the first half, it was back and forth for the Pirates and the Trojans. At the end of the first, the Trojans held an 11-9 lead. However in the second quarter, the Pirates found holes in the Trojan defense, getting off some clean shots to take a 26-20 lead.

Things began to fall apart in the third for the Trojans as Postville changed defensive schemes. It worked, with Postville going ahead 40-26 after three quarters.
