Seniors will be the leaders for the South Winn boys cross country team this season.
With seven seniors out of 11 members on the team, the Warriors boast key leadership this season.
Looking to get the most out of the team are Co-Head Coaches Kevin Kearney and Scott Conway, who combined have over 40 years experience.
The Warriors of 2012 were small in numbers but big in talent. They had just 14 members on the squad and only one senior - Alex Stammeyer.
Moving to No. 14 in Class 2A by mid-October, the Warriors ran to the head of the pack at the UIC meet. They claimed first for the seventh year in a row, this time just edging Central by two points. Overall, four harriers finished in the top-15 - Nathan Meyer, Stammeyer, Alex Upton and Brian Kleppe.
For the first time in 11 years, the Warriors failed to qualify for the state meet. They finished fourth in team standings at the state qualifying meet, just missing a spot at state. They also failed to have an individual finish in the top-10 to move on.
