Several area wrestlers have the chance to wrestle for a state title next week.

The state wrestling tournament runs Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 14-16, in Des Moines.

In order to move on to state, grapplers needed to finish in the top two at the district meet, held Saturday, Feb. 9.

Decorah will have four grapplers at the state meet, with all four taking second at the district meet at West Delaware Saturday.

Kellan O'Shea (132) will go to state for the second time in his career. Andy Hovden (220) and Austin Ashbacher (285) will be headed back to state for the second year in a row. At 152 pounds, Hans Holkesvik will comepte at state for the first time in his career.

Both South Winn wrestlers advanced Saturday from the Aplington-Parkersburg district. At 170 pounds, Colton Hageman took second while Chris Brincks took the title at 195 pounds. Both wrestlers will be competing at state for the first time in their careers.

Turkey Valley has one grappler moving on. Luke Kuennen won the 220 pound title at the Aplington-Parkersburg district Saturday.
