The state qualifying cross country meets are Thursday, Oct. 18, for all classes.

This meet was previously known as the district or regional meet.

All meets begin with the girls race at 4 p.m.

Decorah competes in Class 3A. Both the boys nd girls will compete at Waverly-Shell Rock. Other teams that will compete at Waverly are Charles City (boys ranked No. 5, girls No. 11), Waterloo Columbus Catholic, Crestwood (boys ranked No. 15), Independence, Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR, Oelwein, Union, Vinton-Shellsburg (boys ranked No. 11), Dubuque Wahlert (boys ranked No. 7, girls No. 5), Waukon, Waverly-Shell Rock and West Delaware.

South Winn competes in Class 2A. The boys and girls will race at Monticello. Other teams running at Monticello are Beckman Catholic, Camanche, Cascade (girls ranked No. 4), Center Point-Urbana (boys ranked No. 7), MFL, Monticello (boys ranked No. 1, girls No. 13), New Hampton, North Cedar, North Fayette (girls ranked No. 6), Iowa City Regina, Springville, Sumner-Fred and West Liberty.

Turkey Valley is in Class 1A and will run at Starmont. Other teams at Starmont include Alburnett (boys only), Bellevue (boys ranked No. 14, girls No. 10), Calamus-Wheatland, Central (girls ranked No. 6), Clayton Ridge, Dunkerton, East Buchanan, Ed-Co, Hudson (boys ranked No. 6), Janesville, Jesup, Kee, Maquoketa Valley, Maquette Catholic, Midland, Nashua-Plainfield, North-Linn (girls ranked No. 2), Preston, Prince of Peace Catholic, Starmont (girls ranked No. 15), Tripoli, Valley Community, Valley Lutheran and Wapsie Valley.

The state cross country meet is Saturday, Oct. 27.
