It will be a mix of experience and newcomers for the Turkey Valley girls cross country team.

The Trojans have four juniors with at least one year of running under their belt and three freshman rounding out the squad.

Looking to put it all together is Head Coach Timothy Kruckman. Kruckman has led the Trojans for 12 seasons. Freshman Kandace Engelhardt will be the team manager.

A solid season

The Trojans in 2012 had 10 harriers out for the team, with four returning letter winners leading the way.

Showing improvement all season, the Trojans peaked at the right time. At the conference meet, TV finished fourth in team standings. Three harriers finished in the top-10, earning all-conference status.

A week later at the state qualifying meet, the Trojans finished seventh overall. Battling a tough field, sophomore Josine Gossling came out on top, earning 10th as an individual to earn a spot at the state meet.

Gossling closed her season by taking 33rd at the state meet.
