In just the second outdoor meet of the year, the Turkey Valley boys track team competed at the Charles City Invite Tuesday.
The field was split into two seconds. Competing in the gray division, the Trojans took fifth overall with 65 points. Nashua-Plainfield was the winner with 119 points.
Nathan Suell was the lone champion for Turkey Valley. The sophomore won the 400-meter dash in 53.38 seconds, winning by a second. Suell also took third in the 200-meter dash in 23.41 seconds.
Brian Schmitt won the silver medal in the long jump. The senior had a best of 18 feet, 7 inches. He missed first by 0.75 inches.
Ryan Izer earned the bronze medal in the 1600-meter run. His time was 5:01.76.
Two relays finished in third. The 4x100 had a time of 47.14 seconds. In 3:46.79 was the 4x400 relay.
The Trojans are at North Fayette today, Thursday, April 18, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Apirl 22, they're at Sumner-Fred at 4:30 p.m.
