TV girls first, boys second at Sumner

Getting out on the oval for just the second time this season, the Turkey Valley boys and girls track teams put up some big numbers and times Monday at Sumner-Fred.

The girls finished first with 134 points, edging Union, which grabbed 118.5 points. The boys team came in second with 106 points, just behind Sumner-Fred's 139.
The boys had two events win the gold. In the 400-meter run, Nathan Suell made his lap around the field in 52.16 seconds, winning by 0.27 seconds. Ryan Izer was the other champion. He took the 3200-meter title in just 10:50.30. Second place went to teammate John Hageman, who crossed the finish line in 11:38.10.
