"Thursday night we wrestled hard. The guys are turning into fighters. That is something we can definitely work with going forward," said Coach Steven Andrukaitis.
Several Trojans had good nights on the mat. Riley Meirick was the only Trojan to wrestle all three matches and get three wins. The junior won 3-1 over Nashua-Plainfield's Jake Greer and picked up a 5-1 decision over Isaac Hover (Crestwood). He won an 11-3 major decision over Hunter Gerken of Northwood-Kensett.
Eric Buckendahl (152) also went undefeated. He pinned Noah Roach of Nashua-Plainfield in 54 seconds and Mitchell Athey of Northwood-Kensett in 1:18. He received a forfeit against Crestwood.
