Viking offense hits cold snap in two games

Two games in two nights, and the Decorah girls basketball team (3-9, 1-3 NEIC) dropped both contests.

Behind the arc
The three-point line hurt the Vikings Friday as Charles City (8-4, 3-3 NEIC) defeated Decorah 51-40.
In the game, the Comets hit seven shots from behind the arc. Decorah fell behind 2-7 early in the game and trailed 9-12 after the first quarter. The second frame saw the Vikes fall further behind as they were outscored 8-18 to make it 17-30 at the halftime break. Decorah cut the lead to seven at 23-30 early in the third but still trailed by 13, 29-42 with eight minutes remaining.
Decorah was led by Alexis Hove and Tess Olinger, who both had 10 points. Sondra Zidlicky added nine off the bench. Taylor Schuring had five blocks.
