The indoor track season came to a close Friday night as the Decorah boys and girls track teams competed in the NEIC Indoor meet, held at Luther College.
The meet was originally scheduled for last Tuesday; however it was moved to Friday due to bad weather.
No team scores were kept.
Four girls won individual gold medals at the indoor meet. In the field events, Kassie Hoyme won the shot put, throwing 39 feet, 1.25 inches.
Three running events also took first place. Alexis Hove picked up her second gold medal in the 55-meter dash this season, this time winning in 7.70 seconds. Senior Anna Madrigal picked up first in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:37.12. Shana Kelly came up big in the 3000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 11:46.55.
The relays swept every first place finish. The 4x200 of Hove, Tess Olinger, Kayla Ingvalson and Dailen Folkedahl won in 1:52.33. In 4:26.11 was the winning 4x400 combination of Olinger, Taylor Schuring, Kaitlyn Kregel and Folkedahl. The 4x800 of Kregel, Maria McDonough, Lindsay Vande Lune and Schuring captured first in 10:16.37
