Thursday the Vikes got into the winners' column, defeating UIC-opponent MFL 59-53 in Monona.
Saturday the Vikes were supposed to play at Prairie du Chien (Wis.); however, heavy fog forced the game to be postponed. No make up date has been announced.
Both teams got off to a slow start offensively. However, at the end of the first quarter, the Vikes led 8-7. In the second, the Bulldogs got into a rhythm, especially behind the three-point line. They built the lead to 21-15 with two minutes remaining in the half, and after a three at the buzzer, went into the locker room up 29-23.
The Decorah defense stole the show in the third quarter, getting steal after steal after steal and turning them into easy lay ups and free throws. The Vikings took the lead back and ballooned it to double digits. However, in the final two minutes, MFL came roaring back, cutting the lead to five in the final minute of the frame.
