The Decorah boys swim team was busy this weekend in the pool, swimming Thursday and Saturday.
It was a perfect night in the pool for the Decorah boys swim team Thursday as the Vikes won the triangular at Waterloo East.
Decorah defeated East 105-40 and Vinton-Shellsburg 107-48.
The JV team also picked up good points, shutting out East 24-0 and defeating Vinton-Shellsburg 23-19.
In the relays, the Vikes swept the gold medal. In the 200-yard medley, Jerod Heying, Kody Miller, Sam Poppen and Dalton Matt touched the wall in 1:58.38, 10 seconds ahead of second place.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Cole Svestka, Heying, Mac Faldet and Matt posted fast times, finishing in 1:39.04. Svestka, Heying, Poppen and Faldet combined talents in the 400-yard relay to win in 4:13.81, 12 seconds faster than second place.
