The weather broke for two days in a row of golf for the Decorah girls golf team Friday and Saturday, with the Vikings putting up some solid numbers.
Friday the linksters put together their best performance of the year in a triangular with Crestwood and Riceville. Due to course conditions, the par-35 course was shortened to par-33.
In the varsity game, the Vikes put together a good score, finishing with a 225. Crestwood won the m eet with a 224 while Riceville finished third while firing a 239.
Medalist of the meet was Crestwood's Savannah Lentz, who carded a 48. There was a three-way tie for the runner-up spot, including Decorah freshman Alexa Lensing, who had a 54.
Talia Raddatz was second for the Vikings with a 55. Gabi Cowie carded a 57 while Alison Schwartzhoff managed a 59. Also competing for the varsity were Mary Murphy, 60; and Melanie Gossman, 73.
Eight members of the JV squad also got out on the course. Neither Crestwood nor Riceville had a JV team.
